A little about me.
Hello there!
Music:
I have been playing music for over a decade, specialising in the saxophone (alto, soprano, tenor and baritone) for 13 years. Over this time I have had the privilege of playing with some outstanding groups/people, such as the National Children's Orchestra, the National Youth Wind Orchestra, touring round Europe with a multitude of shows (E.g. Dirty Dancing), performing as a cultural opening show for the new city being developed in Saudi Arabia (NEOM), working alongside jazz legends such as Tony Kofi, Charles Tolliver, Deschanel Gordon and many more.
From June 2014 to June 2019 each Saturday, I attended the Junior Guildhall School of Music, practicing both 'Cello and Saxophone at an advanced level. Performing in concerts across the country in both a soloistic and group context. From these experiences, I have honed my ability as a soloist/performer and improved my understanding of the dynamics within group performances.
After 3 years, I decided to direct my attention towards mastery over the Saxophone, in its many forms, finishing my classical studies and diving into the wonderful world of Jazz. It was taught by Tony Kofi, Jean Touissant, Steve Williamson, Sam Braysher, Julian Siegel, Tom Challenger, and many others. I started to find my own tone and language, expressing this over my group, improvisational and soloistic performances. Since September 2021 I am currently studying at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in Greenwich due to graduate in the summer of 2025.
Photography:
Originally I started out focusing on a fine art approach. Becoming interested in ink-based pictures, often in B&W. Experimenting with oil paints was another strong outlet I pursued, enjoying the fact you could spend days at a time on one piece. Moving to university somewhat restricted these passions, due to the limited workspace available at the time. I thought ‘Why not use daily life as a canvas?’ thus, the idea of photography presented itself. Pursuing a more corporate path alongside this creative vision, I have become the standard-on-call photographer for many musicians (Sultan Stevenson, James Wade-sired…), other creatives who require consistent, updated images to reflect their growth as artists.
I’ve been a self-taught photographer for around 6 years now. Mainly interested in brutalism architecture, strong contrasts, and naturally occurring symmetry. I take great inspiration from some of the greats; Fan Ho, Helen Levitt, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, as well as some more modern individuals such as Kit Young and Sarah Van Rij.
